How to reset a Uniwell register

How to reset a Uniwell TX series register

1)     The TX850 series has a red LED within the UNIWELL logo on the front of the cabinet that is a power ON indicator.  The power switch is located on the underside of the lower right rear portion of the cabinet.  Make sure the power is turned OFF.

2)     Perform an INITIAL RESET and CALIBRATION.

a)     Power the terminal OFF.  The red power light will go out

b)    Insert the “S” key into the key lock and turn the key clockwise, one position past the Z1/P key position.  This is the IR and Calibration key lock position

c)     Power the terminal ON

d)    As soon as the red power indicator lights quickly touch the lower left quadrant of the screen and then, immediately after, the upper right quadrant of the screen.  Notice the areas indicated in the diagram below.  Touching each of the two quadrants, first the lower left, then the upper right, when the red power indicator lights must be done very quickly or the Initial Reset will not occur.

e)     When done properly a series of 4 short tones will be heard and the message *******IR***** will be shown on the customer display.  IR DONE will also be displayed in the transaction area of the screen once the key lock is returned to the R position

3)     To calibrate the touch screen.  Using a dull, pointed object, a golf tee works fine, touch first the “A” target directly on the cross hairs(you will hear a single tone) then touch the “B” target directly on the cross hairs(you will hear a double tone).  The screen is now accurately calibrated and returns to the program sign on screen

4)     Turn the key lock back to the R key position.  Touch the Scroll Down arrow or Scroll Up arrow to adjust the normal brightness of the display

  1. My DX 915 starts up and completes the touch A + B as above. When you turn the key to 'R' it makes a warble tone and the blue light on the front flashes and the screen is frozen. What does this mean

  2. I shutdown register so it would find my new remote mouse. How do I restart it. Register is now off and I do not see an on button
